Kubo Seifudo is engaged in the restoration and remounting of all kinds of Eastern artworks and documents. We have inherited and refined the traditional skills necessary for preserving and restoring a broad range of cultural materials, including paintings, books, documents, and shoheiga (wall and folding-screen pictorial art) from the Heian period (794 - 1192), middle ages, and modern times. We are one of only a few studios which with the technology to restore paintings, classical books, old documents, pictures, and other artworks and scholarly reference materials.

Kubo Seifudo carries on the traditional techniques that are indispensable for preserving and restoring designated cultural properties as it restores and remounts paintings, butsuga (Buddhist pictures), and shoheiga. (One such technique is the use of preserving glue.) Kubo Seifudo also possesses the technology to professionally restore classical books and illustrations as research materials and works of art. We also possess the technology and repair materials required to professionally restore classical books and illustrations as research materials and works of art. Employing the leaf casting method, we ensure reversible restoration of classical and modern documents.
